Charge Analyst
Are you good with numbers, have medical background, and the ability to analyze patient accounts to determine their accuracy? Then we are looking for someone like you to join our NMC Health team!
The Charge Analyst is responsible for monitoring and reconciling hospital charges, on a daily basis. This position works directly with charge-generating departments, acting as the bridge between clinical and financial staff, to ensure accurate charges are captured within the Meditech platform. The Charge Analyst maintains good working relationships with department leaders, nursing staff, case managers, billers, coders, and other revenue cycle colleagues.
The right candidate for this position must be highly organized and have strong investigative and problem-solving skills. Applies common sense and logic in the performance of job duties and be proficient at managing varying duties and multiple tasks. 10-key is a requirement.
Knowledge of medical billing is required with overall knowledge of 3rd party payers and healthcare business office procedures. Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 coding is required.
Qualifications
Education and experience:
- High school diploma or GED required. College or vocational training preferred
- Meditech experience preferred
- Spanish speaking preferred
- Healthcare business office knowledge required, preferably billing
- Charge capture, audits, and/or denial experience preferred, but willing to train the right person
