Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's and/or Masters degree in athletic training
  • Valid Athletic Trainer License that is in good standing with the Kansas Board of Healing Arts required
  • BOC Certification required

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Evaluate athlete's readiness to play and provide participation clearances when necessary and warranted.
  • Care for athletic injuries, using approved physical therapy equipment or techniques.
  • Conduct an initial assessment of an athlete's injury or illness to provide emergency or continued care and to determine whether they should be referred to physicians for definitive diagnosis.
  • Assess the progress of recovering athletes to coaches or physicians.
  • Perform general administrative tasks, such as keeping records or writing reports.
  • Responsible for following all HIPPA regulations and guidelines.
  • Responsible for following all OSHA guidelines when handling blood or body fluids.
  • Documentation of referral into the Orthopedics Clinic
  • Initiate relationships and contracts as appropriate with local high schools and colleges

Required:

  • Certified by the National Athletic Trainer's Association Board of Certification
  • Licensed by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts

At NMC Health, we were proud to set an award-winning standard for healthcare and are in need of Certified Coder in our Health Information Management department. For some third-party payers, specifically the majority of patients, the codes determine the amount the hospital is reimbursed for patient's stay or visits to our health system. This is an onsite only position with the opportunity to work remotely at a later date.

Full-time and part time positions are available. 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Duties:

- Review and analyze medical records and documentation to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures
- Assign appropriate codes using ICD-10 and DRG coding systems
- Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and obtain necessary information for accurate coding
- Resolve coding-related issues and discrepancies
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Stay updated on changes in medical coding guidelines and regulations

Experience:

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical coding, preferably in a medical office or Surgical setting
- Proficient in ICD-10-CM and CPT
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Familiarity with medical billing and collection processes
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Note: Certification in medical coding (such as CPC or CCS) is preferred but not required.

This process involves a health and education assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of an education plan, considering psychosocial, economic, and language barriers. Duties are performed in a classroom or individual outpatient settings in collaboration with a professional team. This position is responsible for all aspects of the accredited Diabetes Self-Management Education and Training (DSME/T) program throughout the enterprise. The Educator incorporates professional development and community outreach as an integral part of professional practice.

This position reports to the Director of Outpatient Services. This position is hourly (non-exempt). 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in nursing or dietetics. Master's preferred.
  • Maintains current knowledge of diabetes education and/or certification in area of specialty.
  • Minimum 5 years clinical experience including experience in treatment and education of diabetes within the last 2 years.
  • Formal coursework and/or experience preparation in program management.
  • Formal coursework or credentials in principles of patient-centered learning across the age spectrum preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead and supervisor other professionals. 
  • Spanish proficiency desirable; will accept documented experience with diverse ethnic groups.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge and experience with current pediatric and adult learning theory in relation to chronic disease self-management, especially as it relates to the spectrum of diabetes.
  • Skill with facilitating group and individual interactions to maximize the education experience.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize work and manage time effectively.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with health care team and diverse client populations.
  • Special equipment utilized: glucose monitors, insulin pumps, and diabetes-related products.
  • Skilled using an electronic medical record, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet.

Licensure, registration and certification:

  • Current credentials as a Registered Nurse or Registered, Licensed Dietician required.
  • Maintains current credentials as a Certified Diabetes Educator

Our busy medical testing laboratory is currently seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician for the role of Laboratory Information Systems Coordinator. In this role, you will perform various tasks including coordination of all technology and information management processes specific to the laboratory. The duties of this position include broad aspects of implementation and support for the laboratory information system modules, electronic medical record, interface facilitation, and electrocardiograph records. Additional responsibilities include corporate compliance and quality assurance performance improvement activities, education proctoring, leadership team functions, and may include specialty/subspecialty oversight.

You will also work as a generalist on the bench, which includes filling open shifts, specimen collection, patient testing, contribution to equipment selection, validation implementation and maintenance, training and education, as well as quality assurance and maintaining appropriate documentation. On a daily basis you will also have the opportunity todeliver excellent patient service, answer patient questions, act as a resource for patient information and strengthen the relationship between the patient and our entire medical facility.

DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Clinical Practice/Position Duties

1. Upholds NMC Healths vision, mission, and core values.

2. Follows hospital-wide and departmental policies, including but not limited to general procedures, assigned duties, confidentiality, and observing the Patients Bill of Rights.

3. Facilitates implementation and maintenance of systems, changes/upgrades, instrument interfaces, and set up of new features.

4. Represents laboratory in information services related functions, meetings, training sessions, and discussions.

5. Collaborates with information system representatives, specifically the clinical system coordinator, in planning and executing projected related to laboratory information management and the hospital information system.

6. Facilitates and monitors interfaces between Information System and other vendors.

7. Understands and facilitate LIS interactions with other Information System applications.

8. Engages in troubleshooting unexpected technology problems, request technical assistance or initiate service orders internally and externally.

9. Monitors system reports for proper functioning, performing reviews of patient results, quality control entries, and audit trails as needed.

10. Creates monthly and quarterly compliance and quality reports.

11. Facilitates and oversees electrocardiographic equipment and data storage system implementation, maintenance, and use in collaboration with the imaging data manager.

12. Creates, maintains, and revises policy and procedures, work instructions and other documents related to LIS.

13. Supports middleware, instrument monitoring access, data mining application, and quality control data link.

14. Maintains records and documentation of activities related to LIS quality assurance, maintenance, installation, implementation, communications, and staff education.

15. Provides education, competency evaluation for new employees, staff members and students related to LIS and areas of oversight.

16. Supports the department by assuming duties of staff professional for intermittent, interim periods and/or specific tasks.

17. Collaborates with department director/manager to provide leadership of department functions and operations, contribute to annual staff evaluations, regulatory compliance and department strategic planning.

This FT position provides testing services for all aged patients, in any hospital location including the emergency department and localoff-site collections at nursing facilities as a member of a fast-paced team effort of highly dedicated staff members.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • LIS experience is preferred, including experience with Meditech.

  • Qualified CLIA testing supervisor with a minimum of two years technical experience. Supervisory experience is preferred but not required.

  • Associate or baccalaureate degree in medical technology or a science field with subject content specific to CLIA requirements and graduation from an accredited medical technician or medical technology program is required.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Committed to service philosophy as applied to information systems.

  • Demonstrates intermediate to advanced skills in applied technology, e.g., Microsoft Office, report writing.

  • Possesses interest and aptitude for informatics, applications, and computer solutions.

  • Exhibits high level of awareness of regulatory compliance related to information systems.

  • Communicates effectively, both oral and written, and uses developed interpersonal skills in relationships within and outside the department.

  • Demonstrates problem-solving ability and desire to promote innovative changes.

  • Has experience with current facility information system and supporting applications (training after hiring is optional).

Licensure, Registration, or Certification:

  • Certification as an MT, MLS, or MLT is required. Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology is preferred.
