Every person who walks through our doors is more than a patient—they are a story. Virgil’s story is one of incredible resilience.
Virgil’s difficult road began five years ago after a fall at home. Just when he thought he was on the mend, he fell a staggering 12 feet from a church stage, followed by another injury near his truck on the interstate. These challenges left him with “very significant wounds that never would have healed on their own.”
Faced with these injuries, he found his way to our Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center, discovering a team ready to guide him through every step of his long recovery. The staff was immediately impressed by his positive attitude. Misty Falco, APRN, recalled, “He was the best patient. He did everything we asked him to do, which allowed the wound to heal a lot faster.”
For Virgil, healing went beyond treating his wounds. It was the human connection that made all the difference. He felt a sense of peace the moment he walked in, noting how interested the staff is in who you are, what is going on, and how you feel. He knew he was in a place where people genuinely cared.
After several months of dedicated care, Virgil’s wounds finally healed. As he looks back on his journey, he says, “I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else,” a testament to the compassionate care that helped him find not just physical healing, but hope for a new chapter.
