NMC Health is pleased to announce Dr. Marc Olivier ‘Marco’ Duverseau has been hired to join our medical staff.
Dr. Duverseau comes to Newton after completing his general surgery residency at Mountain Area Health Education Center in Asheville, NC. He has also interned at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
He performs all aspects of general surgery and specializes in hernia repair, endoscopy, robotic procedures. He is also able to treat wounds, issues with the thyroid and parathyroid, as well as benign and malignant breast disease.
“I was always drawn by the mystique of what they do and what it meant to positively impact someone’s life,” Dr. Duverseau said. “Once I found myself in the operating room, however, it just felt like home. I knew it was for me from day one. Meeting a patient, being able to swiftly enact change that improves their quality of life, and watch them walk out of your office happy is what I live for.”
Dr. Duverseau is a graduate of Ross University School of Medicine in the Dominica, West Indies.
“I’m looking forward to making a name for myself,” he said, “To becoming the guy people go to with tough cases and help them figure it out. I want to be part of a medical community that challenges me to be at my best.”
He and his wife are avid travelers. Dr. Duverseau is fluent in English, French and Haitian Creole. He also is competent with the Spanish language.
