The Staff Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) participates in the daily activities of rehabilitation services at our new outpatient clinic in Park City. Under the general supervision of a Staff Physical Therapist, the PTA performs selected physical therapy treatments and interventions in accordance with established treatment plans and the Kansas Physical Therapy Practice Act.

The PTA provides patient-centered care while maintaining professional standards, supporting clinical operations, and assisting in achieving optimal patient outcomes. This role requires strong technical skill, professionalism, and the ability to work collaboratively within the rehabilitation team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer physical therapy treatments as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist

  • Implement treatment plans according to physician orders and established clinical guidelines

  • Monitor patient progress and report findings to the supervising Physical Therapist

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care

  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and departmental standards

  • Assist with clinic operations and support a positive patient experience

Qualifications (as required for success in the role):

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program approved by:

    • The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), or

    • The Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation, or

    • The Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association and APTA

Experience:

  • Preferably a minimum of one (1) year of experience

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Knowledge of the principles and practice of physical therapy

  • Familiarity with APTA Code of Ethics

  • Understanding of departmental and organizational policies and procedures

  • Ability to apply supervision techniques appropriately

  • Competency in performing technical physical therapy procedures

  • Ability to operate therapy equipment safely and effectively

  • Professional verbal communication skills

Licensure, Registration, or Certification:

  • Proof of active Physical Therapist Assistant license required

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
