We are currently seeking a Occupational Therapist position located in our Inpatient Therapy department. As an Occupational Therapist you will assume responsibility in the daily activities of therapy services. This includes, but is not limited to, evaluating and developing treatment plans for acute, skilled swing bed, and Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit (IRU) patients. As a staff therapist you administer occupational therapy treatment to patients as defined in the Kansas Occupational Therapy Practice Act. You will have the responsibility for the overall direction, utilization, supervision, instruction, and evaluation of COTAs and supportive staff and students in their area of rehabilitation services. In addition, the staff therapist is involved in documenting as necessary and appropriate, while also assisting with, or actively participating in, ACHC and safety procedures for the department/organization. QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- Graduate of an Occupational Therapy curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE), American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and/or be state licensed
- Preferably a member of the AOTA and/or Kansas Occupational Therapy Association (KOTA).
- Preferably minimum of two (2) years’ experience
- Must have, or immediately obtain BLS certification
- Must maintain BLS certification
- Must have State Licensure – License must be obtained as per state law
Knowledge & Skills:
- Must know principles and practice of Occupational Therapy; be familiar with the American Occupational Therapy Association Code of Ethics; be familiar with department/organization policies, procedures, regulations and layout; be aware of inter and intra department/organization communications; be able to apply supervision and management techniques
- Must be able to apply the theory of Occupational Therapy; have the ability and competency to operate the equipment of their position; be able to perform technical procedures; be able to to speak intelligently and in a professional manner before others; demonstrate supervision and management skills
