Neurology APRN/PA-C
Under administrative direction, the Neurology APRN/PA-C provides comprehensive and professional advanced practice care to patients in the outpatient clinic and/or hospital setting. This role practices with a high level of autonomy and manages complex clinical decision-making while collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.
The Neurology APRN/PA-C is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, treating, and evaluating patients with acute and chronic neurological conditions, promoting wellness, preventing illness, and providing patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive patient assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans for neurological conditions

Manage acute and chronic neurological illnesses using evidence-based practice

Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions within scope of practice

Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care

Provide patient and family education, counseling, and health promotion
Qualifications
Education
-
Master’s degree from an accredited Advanced Practice Nursing program or
-
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
Experience
-
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience preferred
-
Neurology experience preferred but not required
Knowledge & Skills
-
In-depth knowledge of evidence-based practice and clinical application

Advanced knowledge of pharmacology appropriate to specialty area

Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills
-
Excellent oral and written communication skills with patients, families, physicians, and staff

Ability to exercise independent judgment and manage complex clinical situations

Proficiency in applying clinical procedures, techniques, and instrumentation
-
Ability to formulate and implement treatment plans for acute and chronic conditions
Licensure, Registration, or Certification
-
Current active RN and APRN license in good standing with the Kansas State Board of Nursing OR
-
Current active Physician Assistant license in good standing with the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts
-
Current DEA registration
-
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
