The Mammography Technologist is a professional who works under the supervision of the Imaging Department Medical Director to provide quality care that is focused on the comfort and wellbeing of the patient and family.

 

The position requires a customer service-oriented individual with strong interpersonal skills for the purpose of delivering care and services to patients from diverse ethnic and social groups. Independent decision making is expected in the execution of all duties. May be assigned to be in charge of a modality and able to delegate patient care assignments and duties based on the ability of co-workers. Must strive to maintain the professional standards of Mammography Technology which include utilizing clinical skills and critical thinking to assess, plan, provide, delegate, supervise, manage, and elevate patient care.

This position is hourly (non-exempt). 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, with additional training or educations
  • Graduated from an approved School of Radiologic Technology or equivalent
  • Registered by ARRT in Radiologic Technology
  • Registered by ARRT in Mammography, either prior to April 28,1999 or completed an FDA approved 40-hour mammography education requirement
  • DEXA experience preferred
  • Minimum of 1-years of imaging experience preferred
  • Knowledge of medical procedures and terminology
  • Interpersonally/human relation skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to maintain records and files

Licensure, registration or certification:

  • Current ARRT Registered (RT) and/or Mammography (MM)
  • Current Radiologic Technologist Licensure by the State of Kansas Board of Healing Arts
  • Certification in CPR/BLS
  • There may be additional Registries necessary dependent on the modality assigned
