We are currently seeking an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physicians Assistant (PA-C) to join our Orthopedics team at NMC Health. In this clinical and surgical support role, you’ll provide comprehensive orthopedic services to patients while working collaboratively with a skilled multidisciplinary care team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in both autonomous and team-based care environments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing orthopedic care services under the guidance and delegation of a supervising physician

  • Conducting patient assessments, diagnoses, treatments, and follow-ups

  • Assisting in clinical and surgical orthopedic procedures

  • Applying evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes

  • Coordinating care and communicating with physicians, nursing staff, and patients

  • Documenting care in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Licensure:

  • Master’s degree graduate of an accredited school of nursing’s advanced practice program or an accredited physician assistant program

  • Current active license to practice as an APRN from the Kansas State Board of Nursing or as a Physician Assistant from the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts

  • Current DEA license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Experience:

  • 1–2 years of clinical experience preferred

  • Demonstrated experience in collaborative care settings

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong working knowledge of evidence-based orthopedic practices

  • High level of communication skills for patient, family, and team interactions

  • Clinical decision-making skills, especially for acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions

  • Advanced pharmacology knowledge as related to specialty care
