“It just became real,” NMC Health welcomes New Year’s baby

Starting a new family is exciting enough for most couples, but how about starting the New Year off with your first baby? One family had this experience at NMC Health at the beginning of 2022.

Cindy Krogmeier knew she was expecting, but this was going to be her first child. When her contractions started, it was the final step of her pregnancy journey and the beginning of parenthood.

“This is my first one [pregnancy] so it felt more like cramping” she shared, “but then it just became real.” She knew she was ready to have her baby and it all happened on the world’s biggest celebration, New Year’s Eve.  Cindy was hoping that her baby would arrive in the New Year. NMC Health was the new family’s hospital of choice.

On New Year’s Day, Azilyn was the first baby to be delivered at NMC health.

“I honestly love the whole staff.” Cindy explained how she felt comfortable, safe and taken care of the whole time in the Family Birthing Center. The one-on-one care provided by the nurses and doctors allows them to guide patients through the birthing process.

These feelings of quality and care are carried throughout NMC Health and the family birthing center.

NMC health has been recognized for many years as a Blue Distinction Center for Maternity Care by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas (BCBSKS). NMC health’s ability to provide higher quality and cost-efficient care in our Family Birthing Center is brought to light with each new, happy, addition we greet.

Congratulations to Cindy, Austin and Azilyn Krogmeier!
