Why are you excited to join NMC Health?
I am excited to join NMC Health to get back into orthopedics and be part of a team and system with an established reputation for providing the best care for the community.

Why did you choose to have a career in healthcare?
I chose healthcare to help people recover from injuries and treat painful conditions to improve quality of life and get them back to the activities they enjoy. I also chose healthcare to educate, and advocate for, patients to live long and healthy lifestyles to enjoy all aspects of life.

What is your specialty, and why did you choose it?
I chose orthopedics because of my own sports injuries. I also saw family members deal with injuries and pain. Helping people find what is causing their pain is very rewarding. We use therapy, medicine, or surgery to help patients get their lives back. Our goal is to keep you active and moving.

What inspires you to do what you do every day?
Providing top-quality care that helps patients overcome pain and get back to the activities they love is what inspires me every day.

What is your favorite thing about working with patients?
My favorite part of the job is the personal connection. I enjoy talking with patients to understand their goals, educating them on their diagnosis, and working together to find the best treatment options to help them reach their goals. I love seeing a patient come to me with a problem, identifying the problem, and seeing them have resolution of symptoms and returning to a happy and healthy quality of life they desire.

What is your top priority when providing healthcare?
My top priority is providing the best, most up-to-date, and complete healthcare that is tailored to the individual.

What are your favorite things to do outside of the office?
Outside of the office, I enjoy golf, BBQ, playing and coaching soccer, and spending time with my wife and kids.

If you could give one piece of advice to someone considering a career in healthcare, what would it be?
My advice to someone considering healthcare would be to always have an open mind and have humility in your approach to each patient. While conditions are often similar and we may have opinions on treatment, the patient is a crucial part of the healthcare team in deciding the best treatment plan for each individual.

What’s the best advice you received?
Every patient is important, and they are looking to you for help. Each patient is important and deserves our highest level of care and attention.

What’s one thing you wish every patient knew?
Healthcare is complex and there are often several components to each condition. There is no “magic fix” for most things. It takes time and hard work to see the best results. Our job is to teach you about your health and help you feel better.

Tyler focuses on his patients first. Whether you have a new injury or long-term pain, Tyler and our team are ready to help you heal. Please join us in welcoming him to our clinic!
