We are currently seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Wound Care to join our skilled Wound Care team. In this role, you’ll support wound care nurses and providers by delivering high-quality patient care, assisting with wound-related procedures, and helping maintain cleanliness, safety, and efficiency within the department.

This position requires a patient-centered, detail-oriented individual with strong communication and organizational skills. The Wound Care CNA will work closely with patients of diverse ages and backgrounds, providing comfort, dignity, and support throughout their treatment. Professionalism, compassion, and teamwork are essential in this role. The position reports to the Wound Care Manager and is classified as hourly, non-exempt.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting wound care nurses during patient treatments and procedures

  • Preparing treatment areas, supplies, and equipment

  • Providing patient comfort measures, including positioning, mobility assistance, and basic hygiene needs

  • Monitoring and reporting patient condition changes to licensed staff

  • Documenting care activities accurately in the medical record

  • Maintaining department cleanliness, supply stock, and infection-control standards

  • Supporting patient education by reinforcing instructions given by licensed staff

  • Demonstrating compassion, professionalism, and respect toward all patients

  • Practicing safe, effective care techniques and following all departmental protocols

  • Promoting patient safety and assisting with fall-prevention efforts

  • Collaborating with team members to ensure efficient care delivery

  • Performing additional duties as assigned

Hours: Part Time, Three 8 hours shifts a week

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

  • Previous CNA experience in healthcare preferred

  • Wound care experience is helpful but not required; training will be provided

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a clinical team

  • Knowledge of basic patient care techniques

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work independently when needed

  • Basic understanding of infection control and safety procedures

  • Professionalism, compassion, and the ability to work with diverse patients

  • Basic computer skills for documentation and workflow

Licensure, Registration, or Certification

  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Kansas

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
