We are currently seeking a Full-Time Quality Systems Supervisor to join our Laboratory Services team. This service-oriented individual will play a key role in overseeing quality processes across the laboratory and ensuring excellence in patient care.

In this vital leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing the department’s Quality Assessment Performance Improvement (QAPI) program, supporting customer service issue resolution, and supervising key specialties within the lab including blood bank and chemistry. Additional duties include professional testing, education proctoring, safety leadership, and supervision of operational systems such as the positive patient identification system and temperature monitoring.

You’ll work collaboratively with the Laboratory Quality Assurance Coordinator, Information Systems Supervisor, Information Systems Coordinator, and other leaders to ensure compliance, quality, and innovation in all aspects of lab operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversight of quality processes in accordance with QAPI standards

  • Professional supervision of blood bank and chemistry departments

  • Leadership in lab safety and operational support systems

  • Supporting technical training, education, and compliance

  • Coordination with IT and Quality Assurance staff to resolve system issues

  • Supervision of systems related to patient identification and temperature monitoring

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:
An associate or baccalaureate degree in medical technology or a related science field is required. The degree must meet CLIA requirements and be from an accredited medical technician or medical technology program. Candidate must be a qualified CLIA supervisor or technical consultant, with 3–5 years of technical laboratory experience.

Previous experience as a microbiologist in a laboratory setting is strongly preferred.

Two years minimum experience reading and overseeing plate specimens. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated commitment to technical excellence and customer service

  • Time management, organization, and prioritization skills

  • Effective oral and written communication abilities

  • Ability to interpret and apply regulatory standards and support quality gap analysis

  • Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, report writing)

  • Experience with laboratory information systems is a plus (training may be provided)

Licensure, Registration, or Certification:

  • Certification as MT, MLS, or MLT is required. Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists is preferred.
  • BLS is required.
