We are currently seeking a Laboratory Testing Professional for our Laboratory Department. In this role, you will demonstrate technical skills and experience sufficient to perform clinical laboratory specimen collection, evaluation, testing and result verification and reporting for the broad spectrum of generalist disciplines; including immunohematology, hematology, chemistry, immunology, special chemistry, urinalysis, coagulation and microbiology. The Laboratory Testing Professional exhibits organizational skills in prioritizing workload and task urgency based on specific clinical knowledge to report test results in a timely manner and practices quality management skills to assure reported results are accurate and reliable. In addition, the Laboratory Testing Professional accepts written and verbal orders for laboratory testing, applies corporate compliance measures, fulfills acceptable orders, and engages in continual learning to advance individual and team technical knowledge.

This position reports to Laboratory Administrative Director.

This position is hourly (non-exempt)

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education and Experience:

 

• Associate degree or baccalaureate degree in medical technology, medical laboratory science, or a science field with subject content specific to CLIA requirements and graduation from an accredited medical technician or medical technology program is required. 
• Two to five years of experience in clinical laboratory as a testing professional is preferred. 

 

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

·         Service Oriented

 

Licensure and certifications:

 

• BLS is required
• Certification is required, preferably from the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
