MLS Microbiology Coordinator

We are currently seeking a MLS Microbiology Coordinator position located in our Laboratory Services department. The Technical Coordinator is a service-oriented individual with advanced responsibilities for one or more specialty/subspecialty areas and/or shift team coordination. The duties of this position include, but are not necessarily all-inclusive, contributing to equipment selection, validation implementation and maintenance; operator education; quality assurance processes, maintaining appropriate documentation and performing laboratory professional duties. QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a biological or chemical science, or a degree in Medical/Clinical Laboratory Technology/Science
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a high complexity laboratory
Knowledge & Skills:
- Demonstrates ability to identify problems, initiate actions for correction and evaluate effectiveness of actions taken
- Exhibits commitment to technical excellence and customer service
- Demonstrates knowledge of quality control and patient result management
- Demonstrates time management, organization and prioritizing skills
- Possesses effective oral and written communication skills
- Willingly complies with regulatory requirements
Licensure, registration or certification:
- Certification as MT, MLS, or MLT is required
- Certification by American Society of Clinical Pathologist is preferred
