Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Wound Care

We are currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Outpatient Wound Care Center team. In this role, you’ll provide supportive and restorative nursing care within the framework of the nursing process in partnership with a registered nurse (RN). This position plays an important role in helping patients heal and regain function through effective wound care management.
This is a part-time position (25–30 hours per week) with the possibility of cross-training in other health system departments to achieve full-time hours if desired.
Key responsibilities include:

Providing age-appropriate, compassionate patient care

Developing and maintaining therapeutic relationships with patients and families

Assisting with wound assessments, treatments, and documentation in collaboration with the RN and providers

Supporting patient education and wound care instructions

Performing duties with accountability, accuracy, and attention to safety

Managing time effectively to support efficient clinical operations

Utilizing computer systems and electronic health records for accurate documentation

Participating in cross-department collaboration and teamwork to enhance patient outcomes
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
-
Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing
Experience:
-
Wound care experience preferred but not required
Knowledge & Skills:
-
Ability to provide age-appropriate care

Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on compassion and caring

Proficient in computer use and electronic documentation

Effective communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal

Ability to work independently and take initiative on behalf of the patient

Strong time management and organizational abilities

Accountability and responsibility for safe, high-quality patient care
Licensure, Registration or Certification:
-
Current licensure as a Practical Nurse in the State of Kansas

CPR/Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
