The Manager of Development and Volunteer Services reports to the Executive Director of Development and Outreach and is responsible for leading a robust volunteer program that provides effective support to various departments in the organization and results in meaningful volunteer experiences. This includes working with department directors to identify appropriate placement and oversight for volunteers. This position also provides managerial-level support for all development, philanthropy, and grant writing responsibilities in the organization.

 Knowledge and skills:

  • Proficiency managing competing priorities in conjunction with day-to-day activities and competence in overseeing multiple projects, people, and responsibilities concurrently.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills with diverse personalities while employing professionalism, diplomacy, tact, maturity, and flexibility.
  • Effective and sound decision-making, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Time management, initiative, creativity
  • Exceptional communication skills, both orally and in writing
  • Computer keyboard and basic computer operating knowledge required; experience withMicrosoft Office products and software relevant to dutiesrequired.

Education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent training andexperience
  • 3 or more years of experience relevant to the position.
  • Experience implementing volunteer projects andplans
