We are currently seeking a Clinic Laboratory Technician to join our team at our N. Amidon Family Medicine Clinic. In this role, you’ll serve as a service-oriented team player with primary patient contact, functioning as a phlebotomist utilizing universal precautions. You’ll be responsible for specimen collection and processing, order entry, medical necessity verification, and managing phone calls, while ensuring accurate and timely specimen handling.

This position performs daily and weekly maintenance on waived testing devices and ensures the delivery of accurate and quality results. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a high standard of patient care.

This is a Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. position with no weekends or holidays.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing specimen collection and processing according to established protocols

  • Managing requisition and order entry, and verifying medical necessity

  • Screening and managing phone calls, and expediting specimen handling

  • Performing assigned CLIA-waived testing with high attention to detail

  • Conducting daily and weekly maintenance on testing devices

  • Maintaining appropriate supply levels and ensuring quality standards are met

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:

  • 6–12 months of phlebotomy, specimen processing, and waived testing experience preferred

  • Phlebotomy experience in a busy provider clinic strongly preferred

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Training in phlebotomy with an understanding of pre-analytical variables that can impact test results

  • Basic computer operation skills

  • Experience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) preferred

  • Excellent customer service and phone communication skills

Licensure, Registration or Certification:

  • Nationally recognized phlebotomy certification preferred
