NMC Health is proud to offer free diabetes education support groups to our community.

These meetings provide topical information about managing your diabetes and expert Q&A sessions.

At our meeting on March 10, 2022, we will be talking about effective ways to makeover your meal plans

These meetings happen on the second Thursday of every month.

We offer both virtual and in-person meetings.

Sunflower Cafe Refresh Project

Exciting news! NMC Health’s Sunflower Café will be getting a
refresh starting Friday, December 3. When the Sunflower Café reopens, you will
see new flooring, new surfaces on the service lines, freshly painted walls, and
some changes to the layout.

Why a refresh?

  • Some of our older surfaces need updates to ensure they comply with current
    infection control standards
  • A more flexible design, will allow us to provide better service and new
    options in the future

How does this impact me?

During the renovation, there will be no disruptions to
regular patient room service or Meals on Wheels protocols. The regular
cafeteria space will be closed (see image below). Because of this, you will see
the following temporary changes:

  • Use the hallway by the Board Room and Adrian Room to enter the Cafeteria.
  • Food will be served from the Osage Room and South Dining Room.
    • IMPORTANT – On Friday, December 3, breakfast sandwiches and cold lunches will be served from the North Dining Room. Dinner service will not be available December 3. Service will end at 1:30pm on December 3 to allow for the moving of equipment.
    • There will be NO FOOD SERVICE on Sunday, December 19. The cafeteria will be closed to allow for the moving of equipment. Please plan accordingly.
    • All other Cafeteria hours will remain the same.
    • Both hot and cold food options will be available during the renovations.
    • The free Beverage Center will be closed 12/3 – 12/19. Vending machines will be available. Please plan accordingly.
    • Staff members will be able to access the Osage Room after hours for grab & go options.
    • Microwaves may be temporarily unavailable. We’re working on a solution, but plan for them to be inaccessible.
  • Seating in the South Dining Room will be limited, but the North Dining Room will
    be available.

On Monday, December 20, we plan to return to normal Sunflower Café services. There will be one permanent change.

  • Fountain beverages will no longer be available for purchase from the Sunflower Café.
    This equipment is being permanently removed to improve visibility for our
    servers and cashiers. Bottled sodas may be purchased from the drink cooler
    or vending machines.
