We are excited to welcome Payton Siemens, our new speech therapist to NMC Health | Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation in Newton and Park City, KS!
Local families will be happy to know that she has a special focus on reading care. In just a couple of weeks, she will start offering dyslexia and reading services at our Newton location. This new program will help kids and adults build the core skills they need to read and write with confidence.

Why are you excited to join NMC Health?
I am excited to serve the community population, and get lots of experience while helping others.
Why did you choose to have a career in healthcare?
I chose to have a career in healthcare because you can have a variety of different patients to see and different diagnoses.
What are your specialties and why did you choose them?
My specialty is dyslexia/reading disorders. I chose dyslexia/reading intervention because I am passionate to help people learn those foundational skills to learn how to read, write, spell, etc. It is super important in every day life!
What inspires you to do what you do every day?
What inspires me to do what I do every day is Jesus Christ. I want to help people and have God use me to serve and help others.
What is your favorite thing about working with patients?
I love hearing their stories about life and their recommendations. It is so wonderful to ask questions to someone in their late 90s or early 100s and ask “What advice do you have for a long-lasting life?” or “What made life so wonderful?”
I also love helping kids build confidence in reading skills, spelling, and writing. I love the look on their faces when they finally understand the rules of the language and how they are confident in it! No one should feel any less than when it comes to reading, writing, and spelling. I want to offer education to parents, students, and to other school sin the surrounding areas about dyslexia.
What is your top priority when providing healthcare?
My top priority is the patient and making sure their needs are being met.
What are your favorite things to do outside of the office?
I love to sew, bake, take my dog for a walk and hang out with my husband!
If you could give one piece of advice to someone considering a career in healthcare, what would it be?
I would say go into it with openness! You never know what you want to do!
What’s the best advice you received?
Live everyday like it is your last day.
What’s one thing you wish every patient knew?
I wish every patient knew my kindness and willingness to help and that I am a soft person at heart! Go easy on me!
