NMC Health welcomes Kennedy Weaver, DPT, to the newly opened Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation clinic in Park City! With a deep-rooted passion for orthopedics and sports medicine, she brings a highly empathetic perspective to patient care, one born from her own personal experiences on the receiving end of healthcare. Dedicated to spending quality, one-on-one time with you, her focus is on providing tailored treatment that empowers you to overcome obstacles. We recently sat down with Kennedy to learn more about her journey, what inspires her every day, and how she plans to help you get back to living an active, fulfilling life.
Why are you excited to join NMC Health?
I’m excited to join NMC Health so that I can spend direct one-on-one time with my patients and provide quality care.
Why did you choose a career in healthcare?
I injured my knee playing sports, which took me out of sports for seven months. That’s why I chose to have a career in healthcare. I’ve been on the receiving end of the profession and enjoyed the process as it was an outlet during some difficult and unfamiliar times in my life since I wasn’t able to be involved in sports.
What are your specialties and why did you choose them?
My interests are orthopedics and sports medicine. I grew up playing sports and have a background and interest in these areas and enjoy working with athletes.
What inspires you to do what you do every day?
Helping patients return to or teaching patients how to live an active lifestyle and get back into the things they enjoy doing inspire me. Watching individuals overcome obstacles or difficult challenges also inspires me.
What is your favorite thing about working with patients?
My favorite thing about working with patients is being able to learn from them in return and get them back to their prior level of function.
What is your top priority when providing healthcare?
My top priority when providing healthcare is ensuring I am providing tailored and individualized care.
What are your favorite things to do outside of the office?
My favorite things to do outside of the office are spending time with family and friends, cook, attend church, and go to the gym.
If you could give one piece of advice to someone considering a career in healthcare, what would it be?
Have a purpose, a reason, and a why for what you are doing. Healthcare can take a special individual so being truthful with yourself as to why you are getting into it makes a big difference.
What’s the best advice you received?
Get really, really good at things other people won’t do or don’t want to do.
What’s one thing you wish every patient knew?
I wish every patient knew the things they are capable of despite the pain they can be in.
We are incredibly fortunate to have Kennedy on staff. She embraces challenges and strives for excellence – and she expects the same from you! We cannot wait to see the positive impact she will have in Park City!
